My name is Josefina Coll, I am BA in Fashion Design from Montevideo, Uruguay and I have been working in different areas of the fashion industry for the last 9 years. Internships, retail assistance, freelance design, small personal brands, teaching... I've been fortunate to learn from all the different facets of the industry re-inventing myself along the way.
It all started when I was 16 years old, I took a sewing class to customize my own clothes - been in love with it ever since. I'm very passionate about making and upcycling clothes, but also teaching other people how to do it. For the past 3 years I've been teaching sewing and knitting workshops in Savanna Workshop, making clothes as Sarong Design, and designing menswear for Caprera.This studio is the result of all the jobs and projects I've had, so I'm excited to be bringing it to Berlin.
My main goal is to bring value to what people wear, make them feel proud to be wearing something special. I believe that everything can be reused and that nothing should be wasted, you just have to give it the right twist. When you wear a piece of clothing YOU made, it takes on a whole different value, AND TO YOU - because no one made it for you, it's made just the way you want it, and it fits YOUR body.
I want to encourage men and women to recycle their clothes. I know you can do so much with creativity - let me bring innovation to your closet and your way of life.
